Shoreland Zoning Districts

The Shoreland Zoning Ordinance defines certain areas on our island as "Resource Protection Districts" and "Limited Development Districts".  These areas have restrictions on development in order to protect particularly important wetland areas.  Other areas noted are "Commercial Fisheries/Maritime Activities" (CFMA) areas.  For questions on restrictions in these areas, review the Shoreland Zoning Ordinance in the Ordinances section of the town web site or consult with the Code Enforcement Officer or the Planning Board.
